Photographing a Vitcas Oven Build: Record Materials and Details

Vitcas Casa outdoor oven and chamber entrance

A photo of the finished oven shows the appearance but does not explain what is under the finish. It is worth keeping documentation from the first layers. During later repairs, the name of the material and the visible connection method will be more useful than a general statement that Vitcas products were used.

Start by identifying the set

For the Vitcas Casa oven, record the variant and assembly documentation. Photograph the packaging of used products, keeping the name and format legible. Do not assign parameters to one material based on the similar packaging of another variant.

Take a shot of the entire area and the support details. Attach a drawing with dimensions if the photo does not show them clearly. Records should concern the constructed structure, not just the planned layout.

Photograph before covering

For the ceramic fibre blanket, record the thickness, position of the strips, terminations, and cover. A large shot of the dome will not show the missing fragment at the entrance. Take separate photos of the corners and the junction with the base.

For Outdoor Oven Cement, note the place of application and the stage of execution. Keep photos of supports and connections with equipment. Water, insulation, and metal elements should have their progression visible in the documentation.

Describe what can be verified

Add the dates of wet works, preparation for use, and subsequent repairs. Do not call the documentation a laboratory test or confirmation of the parameters of the complete structure. Photos show the execution, and the material requirements arise from their documentation.

If you want to publish your own implementation, separate observation from performance promises. Describe the products and stages actually used without inventing savings or measurement results. A local copy of the photos with short captions will also allow you to return to the detail when it is no longer accessible under the external casing.
